Description:
Chinese opium pipe featuring a straight, polished hardwood stem of deep reddish-brown hue, capped at both ends with decorative metal fittings. The centerpiece is an engraved metal saddle, adorned with floral motifs and accented by a small inset stone. Mounted atop the saddle is a rounded ceramic bowl, darkened from historical use. Extending from the saddle’s side is a metal tool rest—shaped into a small hand-like form—intended to hold the opium needle or other implements between preparations.
